Description

1999 Grand Banks 42 Classic

PERFECT GREAT LOOP BOAT. With over 1,500 delivered, the Grand Banks 42 Classic is easily the most successful trawler design ever produced. With her long keel, hard chines, and a deep forefoot, the 42 Classic ranks among the most comfortable and seaworthy cruising yachts in her class. Accommodations include a forward Guest Stateroom with a large V-Berth with drop-in filler, forward Head and Shower, a well-appointed Galley to port, lower Helm to starboard, Salon with table and L-Shaped settee on starboard with bench seat on port, and an Owner’s Stateroom aft with a centerline island berth and separate Head and Shower. TORTUGA features the super-reliable Caterpillar 3116’s with 350hp each diesel engines. Full maintenance records from 6/2015 available.

There are several unique features on TORTUGA making here an IDEAL Great Loop Cruiser, Bahamas/Keys Cruiser or a Live Aboard. A full array of solar panels mounted on top of the strengthened flybridge bimini frame, coupled with a six Lithium battery bank (600 amp hours), provides plenty of DC and Inverter AC storage power. TORTUGA also has a special custom All White R400 treatment to the teak decks that ensure a non-slip grip, a much lower temperature underfoot, and a super protection against the elements and water intrusion. She has a LUXE Bidet attachment to SeaLand VacuFlush Porcelain Commode in the En-Suite MSR Head. There is also expanded refrigeration on the boat in the Flybridge and the option of more in the Salon in place of the portside settee.

Vessel Walkthrough

Beginning with the bow Guest Stateroom, there is an en-suite Head to starboard, sink with vanity and medicine cabinet. Also included is a Shower area completely compartmented with a shower curtain that prevents it from being a “Wet Head”. There is plenty of light and fresh air provided by an overhead hatch and a side window. There is a hanging closet to port with a second smaller locker aft off it for custom modified for better use of storage. Sleeping accommodations are provided by a full beam V-Berth (with filler) with ample drawers and storage below. Toward aft, there is a set of lift-up stairs for forward access to the Engine Room.

Up these stairs to the Main Salon there is the lower helm station to starboard with a full set of electronics to pilot the vessel in inclement weather, or climate-controlled comfort. Direct access to the side deck is out the starboard door at the Helm. All AC and DC circuit panels are located at the Helm Station lower right behind varnished teak doors. Aft of Helm Station is a day bar with liquor storage and a U-Line ice maker. Moving aft along the starboard is a L-Shaped settee in beautiful durable Ultra Suede with a Grand Banks teak dining table that can convert from cocktails to dinner. On the portside is the optional preferred full L-Shaped Galley. This option allowed for ONE THIRD more counter and cabinet storage space! There is a large SS single sink. There is an en-suite Head with a LUXE Bidet attachment to  SeaLand VacuFlush porcelain commode on the forward port side, with a separate Shower forward of the stateroom on the starboard side.
