Manufacturer Provided Description

The Farr 50 Pilot House is large enough for a couple to live on board in shoreside style and comfort, with ample guest accommodation. The standard mast is an anodised, keel stepped, three spreader rig from Selden Masts with single in-line lower shrouds and baby stay. A removable inner forestay (cutter stay) is fitted with a manual tensioner. The boom also comes from Selden and is fitted with two reefs, an outhaul and flattener. The genoa is fitted to a Furlex furling system which has the control led back to the cockpit. Also standard is the Navtec hydraulic package, controlling the backstay and vang from the cockpit. The Farr 50 has storage lockers in the bow and stern providing large amounts of space accessible from the deck only. Thus the living accommodation is protected from dinghies, sails and the multitude of gear that, in other yachts, are trailed through the saloon and stowed in the forecabin. For security and safety the forward sail locker is totally watertight and separate from the forward cabin. The pilot house concept provides panoramic views, whilst seated or standing, throughout the saloon. The Farr 50 provides the perfect combination of cosy living-room comfort with airy spaciousness. As well as featuring an interior steering position and comprehensive navigation area, the saloon´s seating areas will easily accommodate guests. And, by keeping the accommodation close to the centre of the yacht, the motion at sea is minimised. All other areas of the accommodation lead off the central saloon. Choose from an option of a three or four cabin layout. In the three cabin layout the owners stateroom aft has an en suite head, and the large guest cabin forward, which is of a similar size, also has an en suite. The third twin or double cabin is placed under the saloon outboard to starboard. Either version provides a day head compartment and a fully equipped galley in the passageway aft of the saloon.
