Designed by Germán Frers, the HR53 combines modern styling and a performance hull but still retains that timeless elegance that is the hallmark of the range. The interior layout provides the space and comfort of a luxury floating home. Beautiful mahogany, satin finished, smooth, rounded, warm the touch and soothing to the eye, the interiors of these boats are superb. The layout is designed to allow unimpeded access from bow to stern, in a smooth line with no obstructions. The engine room is a generous, walk-in compartment, with ample room to work around the six-cylinder engine.  The engine room holds the Westerbeke generator, 2 Webasto heaters, Climma Air Conditioning (50hz) and pumps for the Enwa Watermaker with easy access to all systems.

Accommodations

Beautiful mahogany interior, teak and inlaid holly sole with carpeting (2012), beige curtains with UV protection on portlights, Alcantara upholstery in the salon and at the Nav station. 

  • Forward cabin  has a 2 person berth with stowage below and lockers above berth, custom bookshelf. There are reading lamps, fans, and two overhead hatches. Access to the windlass motor is inside the locker forward and above the berth. New hatches 2012
  • Guest cabin to starboard with upper and lower berths, lockers and bookshelf above, and a locker beside lower berth with mirror above. Both berths have fans and reading lamps. The upper berth is hinged and swings up to provide additional headroom should only the lower berth be in use. There is an overhead hatch for plenty of light and ventilation plus two opening portlights. Custom work bench below the upper berth. Custom screen for portlights. New hatches 2012 
  • Forward Head Compartment to port with white laminate bulkheads, a Corian wash basin and countertop, a large mirror, good lighting and ventilation, and teak shower grating. Manual toilet. There is a large separate shower stall and a shower sump pump. Large storage area beneath the cabin sole.
  • Salon Starboard side has U shaped galley with large stowage lockers behind and under. Mahogany dining table with seating for 6-8 people. Comfortable settees on port and starboard side. Two extra folding chairs with Alcantara seats. Indirect accent lighting with adjustable shades provide lighting around the perimeter of the salon and below the ports giving the cabin a warm and appealing glow for that perfect evening ambiance. Headroom is 6' 7".   • Aft Stateroom  Aft cabin features a large centerline berth with a small settee to port. There is a desktop/vanity with mirror above.   • Aft Head Compartment: Ensuite head has Corian washbasin, white Formica laminate bulkheads with large mirror with cupboard below, and teak grating. Kenny 230v washing machine. Manual toilet. Stall shower and shower sump pump. Headroom is 6' 3".
  • Heating, Cooling and Ventilation: There is good natural ventilation through five opening hatches all with curtains, 16 ports (15 opening) all with curtains, six Dorades. Forward cabin with 1 air-only Dorade (new 2013). There are two Webasto diesel fired forced hot air heaters with outlets in each cabin. 5-24V Hella fans strategically placed throughout interior to help ensure good ventilation. Two Climma Air Conditioners (50hz) with outlets in each cabin for maximum comfort in all compartments and salon. Lockers are equipped with louvers or vents for air circulation

Navigation Station

The engine compartment is accessible from a door in the portside walk-through. All pumps, heaters, water heater, generator and filters are easily accessible and easy to clean. Special care was taken for good sound insulation.

Deck and Cockpit

White GRP-sandwich construction, 35 mm thick for strength and insulation. Blue decorative stripe around the cockpit. Hull and deck completely joined by overlapping GRP-laminate. Deck, coachroof, handrails and seats are all solid Bangkok teak. 16 windows, 15 of them opening, 5 skylights and 6 Dorade vents.The deck is provided with scuppers which drain under the waterline, keeping the hull clean.
