Description

Lady Hawk is a beautiful example of the popular Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 54 DS. These boats are well known for their terrific sailing qualities as well as modern styling.

The boat has been lightly used by the original owners who sailed the boat as a couple. Please see the Owner’s Comments in the listing.

Lady Hawk was in Freeport during Dorian and suffered some dock rash and was brought back to Lauderdale Marine Center in Ft Lauderdale where she was repaired and the topsides were repainted Flag blue. The bottom was inspected and painted as well.

While there, the owners decided to upgrade their boat in a number of different ways. Firstly, they had the standing and running rigging replaced. Next, they had the veneer teak deck removed and professionally glassed, painted with non-skid.

All the navigational electronics were replaced as well with Garmin products.

All the batteries were replaced along with battery cables. The electrical end of the Northern Lights generator was rebuilt.

All the canvas was redone including Bimini, dodger, cockpit cushions, cockpit table cover, helm cover, and winch covers.

The Bimini has a full zip-in enclosure for cockpit comfort.

Two new CruisAir airconditioners were installed as part of the interior upgrades.

For a couple or family ready to cruise in style and comfort, this is the boat for you.

The list was lengthy but the owners wanted the boat in top shape

Owners Comments

We are the original owners of Lady Hawk.  We purchased her in 2008 and would predominantly sail in Long Island Sound, Narragansett Bay, Nantucket and Marthas Vineyard.  We also sailed in the Chesapeake Bay as we purchased the boat in Annapolis.  The boat is easy to sail with the roller furling jib and the in-mast furling main, electric winches and twin helms.  The two of us would easily be able to handle her even in extreme winds.  The boat is exceptionally comfortable with three zone air conditioning and easy to be on for an extended period of time.  When we moved to Florida, we sailed the boat to Freeport Bahamas and would go back and forth by ferry to be on the boat.  At that time, we didn’t sail her much just used her as a condo.  She was caught in Hurricane Dorian in 2019.  She sustained damage from rubbing against the dock, the genoa was shredded and some water seeped into the boat.  The boat was brought back to Florida and repairs were completed.  At that time, we took the opportunity to refit the boat which included all new Garman electronics including radar, TV antennae, GPS, twin chart plotters, wind speed and depth indicators all which interface with the refitted auto pilot.  The standing and running rigging have been replaced, the hull and bottom were painted.  The wood deck was replaced with Kiwi grip.  The canvas was all replaced and can accomodate the screens that complete the cockpit enclosure.  Neither the main sail nor genoa are the original sails.  The generator has also been refitted.  We also have an asymmetric spinnaker with an image of a Hawk that has only been used twice.
