Owner statement

Josephine is a Shuttleworth designed racing/cruising catamaran completed in December of 2015.  She is an open bridge deck design with three double berths and a large galley below deck.  Because of the Shuttleworth flared hull design she has loads more room down below than any equivalent cat with no sacrifice to performance.  Her top speed recorded by GPS is 20.4 knots and she’ll do 80% of wind speed on a beam reach (fastest point of sail).  She points higher than other cats.

Josephine was built with fiberglass, Divinycell H80 foam core and unidirectional carbon in key structural areas using vacuum assisted epoxy resin transfer molding.  To keep her preserved she is mostly stored out of the water.

Josephine has a 16 inch draft when the single inboard angled daggerboard on the port hull is raised and the rudders are kicked up allowing her to go straight up to the beach, alleviating the need for a dinghy.  With the daggerboard down she has an approximate 7 foot draft.

Over the open bridgedeck there is a soft top bimini held by four removable carbon stanchions and a single halyard.  It takes less than 5 minutes to assemble.  (see images)
