Seller’s comments:
In our 3 ½ years of Manta 44 Powercat ownership we found the vessel perfect for our intended use.
After selling our 57’ sailing cat that we had used throughout the Bahamas and Caribbean we wanted a motor vessel to do the Great Americas Loop with. We looked at multihulls and monohulls but found multihulls, with their roominess and fuel efficiency, to be the right choice. After looking at many offerings in the 40 to 50 ft. range the Manta 44 seemed the logical choice.
It offered the practical features needed on a 6,000-mile trip that would include many variables.
The pilothouse being level with the wide decks made docking in always changing situations and handling lines in the 100 plus locks an easy task. The less than 3’ draft was really nice in the many skinny water areas we encountered on the loop, as well as later, in the Bahamas. Other appealing features were the wide-open accessible engine rooms, well wired and labelled electrical and plumbing, plentiful storage under all seating areas, berths and a large area under the pilot house floor, we call the garage. The efficient higher planning speeds made the open water crossings so much nicer and quicker than the traditional trawlers commonly used. The boat is extremely easy to maneuver. All of this and more is why we gave the vessel the well-deserved name “Quick and Easy”.
