Description

“Leap of Faith” has just returned from Elite Marine Boat Yard in St Pete where feedback from a survey set in motion a deeper look at the systems of this Catalina 350 MKII.  The owner’s intent is to convey a safe seaworthy boat, so he had “Leap of Faith” inspected by the yard, and has okayed a refresh of the boat’s systems with an open checkbook to the tune of $30K. (Record of the work done can be provided to a serious buyer)   The 350 MKII is an evolutionary design resulting from the feedback from over four hundred and fifty 350 MKI owners. Built to meet CE and ABYC standards the Catalina 350 MKII is an excellent price/value. Comparisons to other 35-foot production boats becomes difficult because the Catalina 350 MKII is all about space. The cockpit is large and comfortable featuring deep supportive seat backs that are long enough to sleep on. The weather decks are wide, and the shrouds are well inboard to optimize sheeting angels providing easy passage to the foredeck.  All sail handling lines and sheets are lead aft to the cockpit.  “Leap of Faith” features a newer in-mast furling main and roller furling genoa.  A double roller split anchor locker coupled with a new electric windlass make anchoring a breeze.
The main cabin measures 9′ 6″ on the centerline from the base of the companionway ladder to the port bulkhead at the head. The salon at its widest point, measured from the backs of settees, is 10′ 5″. To put that in perspective, a bedroom in an average-sized apartment is 10′ x 12′.  With 6′ 9″ headroom in the 350 MKII’s cabin has the feel is of a much larger boat. The owner’s stateroom berth measures 59″ x 77′, with easy assess from both sides.  The dry head with stall shower is accessible from the salon and owner’s stateroom.
Private cabins, separate stall shower, generous tankage, large battery banks and large lockers give the 350 MKII the capacity for comfortable extended cruising. (see broker’s comments below)
