Susan Opland

Susan is a yacht broker with a lifelong knack for problem-solving and a passion for helping clients step confidently into life on the water. She earned her degree in Mathematics from the University of North Dakota and began her career teaching middle school, high school, VA, and business college courses before eventually making Colorado home.

After starting a family, Susan immersed herself in Colorado statutes, attended industry seminars, and worked as her husband’s paralegal—supporting matters involving real estate, probate, and banking litigation. That experience sharpened her attention to detail, contract fluency, and steady, client-first approach—skills she brings to every yacht transaction.

Scuba diving adventures led Susan and her husband to the Virgin Islands, where they were introduced to charter life, island cruising, and the world of sailing. Inspired to make the sea a bigger part of their lives, they sold everything, purchased a new Island Packet, and set off to build real offshore experience—spending the next couple of years cruising the islands and learning what it truly takes to live aboard and travel comfortably from “Saint Somewhere” to the next anchorage.

Back on shore, new boat sales and yacht brokerage was a natural fit. Susan combines practical cruising knowledge with a calm, detail-oriented process to help buyers and sellers navigate pricing, preparation, negotiation, and closing. She loves matching people with the right yacht—and sharing in the excitement that comes with a new adventure underway.
