The boat

This sturdy sailboat is ready to cruise along the coast or sail across oceans. In inclement weather, you’ll sit high and dry in the fully enclosed cockpit, where all sails can be safely controlled. The cockpit can be heated from two sources, meaning you can sail year-round.

This highly capable boat has made three Atlantic crossings on her own hull.

Mythic II is a timeless design capable of taking the worst of cold or hot weather conditions with aplomb and comfort. She was built by the world-renowned Camper & Nicholsons shipyard in Gosport, UK.  The yard was founded in 1782 and is acclaimed for building some of the finest yachts in the world. It is still in business today. This 48-foot ketch design uses the strength and maintainability of fiberglass construction with a graceful, seaworthy hull form. The fully enclosed center cockpit provides a pilothouse-like space for all-season navigation. The raised salon with large windows ensures a bright and inviting interior.

The sails

All sails can be controlled from the safety of the cockpit using three Lewmar self-tailing winches. There’s a high-cut Harken roller furling jib with new running rigging and there’s a Harken roller furling behind-mast mainsail. This is superior to roller mainsails that sit in mast or in boom, which are prone to entanglement. This mainsail can be quickly and simply rolled in or out, or reefed.

The engine

This Perkins 4-236 is excellently maintained. This is a highly reliable mechanical engine that is easy to service. All filters, zincs and fluids were recently replaced. It outputs 84 horsepower and can push the boat along at over 5 knots. At cruising RPMs, it burns about 1.5 gallons per hour, giving this boat a potential motoring range of 700 nautical miles. A fuel pressure boost pump can be switched on as a supplement. There is outstanding engine service access from the top and the side. There are many spare parts, including a starter, 2 alternators, impeller and more.

The generator

The 4.5KW Northern Lights generator is relatively new, and has low hours. All filters and fluids were recently replaced. This generator outputs a lot of power—enough to run the air conditioning, the water maker, and the water heater, all at the same time.

The new dinghy

NEW: Highfield centre console dinghy, 20hp Yamaha outboard with electric and manual start, running lights, boarding ladder, lifting sling, automatic bilge pump, full folding canopy, anchor, handheld depth sounder, locking fuel and storage compartments with marine lock set. 20 feet of 3/8 stainless steel chain with heavy lock for security. Dinghy soft chocks for stowage on the bow.
