Description

(LOCATION: Alva FL) The Slocum 43 is a Taiwanese built long range cruiser. Aft cockpit, raised cabin with rich solid teak interior she was designed to be an upscale bluewater cruiser. Taloa is a project boat. She has been partially decommissioned with the removal of mast, rigging, wind generator, and rails. There are no sails. Restoration would provide her new owner with a classic cutter rigged cruiser.

The interior is finished rich teak with large open salon horseshoe convertible dinette with ample storage for all the gear you would need on an extended cruise. Across from the dinette is a settee / single berth with more storage. Next to the dinette is a U-shaped galley with stainless steel double sink, gimballed stove, top loading ice box, and wraparound counter space. A nav station with chart table is located across from the galley. There are quarter berths aft to either side, one enclosed, one open. Forward we have a cabin with v-berth, hanging locker, drawer storage, and access to chain / rope locker. Between the forward cabin and salon we have an enclosed head with vanity and tub / shower to port and hanging locker and more storage to starboard.

On deck we have a large aft cockpit with custom teak cockpit table. Room to relax, entertain, or dine. She can be fitted by her new owner to their specifications.

Auxiliary power is provided by a dependable Perkins 50-hp diesel engine. There is a wind generator to charge the batteries. A 1993 survey with photos is available for viewing to see this Slocum as she was then and will hopefully be again. Call for more information and to schedule a showing.
