Accommodations

The Shannon 39 features an efficient hull shape and great sail characteristics. Her interior is light and airy with large, heavy duty, stainless steel opening ports and hatches and a Herreshoff white bulkhead interior with generous teak trim work.

The master stateroom is forward with a large V-berth. Next aft is the main salon with a settee and pilot berth to starboard and an L-shaped dinette to starboard. The U-shaped galley follows to starboard, and the head and shower are to port. The Nav station is just forward of the head. 

The Owner’s Cabin has a large V-berth with filler. There are drawers underneath, a large hanging locker to starboard and additional drawers to port. Natural light and ventilation are provided by two portholes and a large overhead hatch. There is access to the anchor locker thru a teak louvered door in the forward bulkhead. There is an electric fan at the foot of the bed for air circulation.

The main salon has a settee to port with a fold down pilot berth above and storage behind. Each berth is fitted with lee cloths.  Forward of this is a hanging locker with the TV locker above. There is a teak drop-leaf table mounted on the centerline. To Starboard is an L-shaped dinette that converts to a queen berth. Outboard are three storage lockers. The center locker houses the stereo system and has cut outs for wine storage. A clock and barometer are mounted on the forward bulkhead. Seven port holes and an overhead hatch provide natural lighting and ventilation.  Additional equipment: AM/FM/speakers, Espar Diesel heater ducted throughout the boat, forward starboard and aft port fans.

The head is divided into two compartments. Upon first entering you step into the vanity are with a stainless sink with storage below and a mirror with storage behind. A large porthole provides ventilation and natural light. Next aft is the head and shower area with an overhead hatch for ventilation and natural light. The head sole is done in tile. Manual toilet with holding tank.

The nav station has a proper chart table with two large storage lockers below with chart storage racks.

The well laid out galley is to starboard in a U-shaped pattern with large double Stainless sink facing forward with storage below and outboard. The stove is along the side with three storage lockers behind with custom racks for glasses and plates. The refrigerator/freezer is spacious with access from the top and the front with more storage above. Sea Frost engine driven refrigerator and freezer with two holding plates.  Additional equipment: Microwave oven, pressure hot and cold water system, Force 10 three burner propane stove w/oven, fuel shut off, water heater, double stainless sinks, fan.

Deck

GPS/chart plotter/radar mounted in cockpit near companionway. There are deep storage lockers to port and starboard. Two 10lb. propane tanks are located under the helm seat. There are 5 chrome winches that bring the jib sheets and main sheet back to the helm for ease of handling. Another winch is on the cabin top for the main halyard and reef lines. A boarding platform / swim ladder folds down from the transom includes a cockpit shower. An Edson dinghy engine crane is mounted on the starboard side of the cockpit. Lifesling mounted on rail.
