BECKONING is no marina queen. She has been fitted out by knowledgeable owners to be a live aboard cruising yacht capable of taking you far and wide. While she has lately been serving a young family as a home on Georgia’s Lake Lanier, she has all the offshore safety gear and cruising features needed to go island hopping and beyond.

Catalina conceived the 470 as their flagship with the goal of offering a high-volume hull with a great interior layout enclosed in a fast, safe hull and deck design. They succeeded, and the 470 has enjoyed a long production run and provides an economical entry point to the large cruising yacht market.

BECKONING is a great opportunity to own a coastal or blue water cruising yacht under $200K.

Beckoning Walkthrough

Dual helm stations with compass with all controls for engine, thruster and auto pilot. Both stations allow access to the instrument pod with engine controls, multi-function display and sonar.

Forward of the helm station is Catalina's signature cockpit table with U shaped seating for up to 12 people. Cockpit speakers and footrests make this a great place to be underway or for sundowners. She has four opening hatches to vent below decks.

There are two storage lockers in the cockpit area and two large, deep lazarettes aft of the helm stations.

Sail handling is done from the cockpit via two Harken 66 2 speed winches for the genoa, Halyards are tended via to coach roof mounted utility winches, one electric.

Molded into the transom, the platform features a hot/cold handheld shower, swim ladder and is accessed via a walkthrough between the helm seats. Two propane tanks are stowed here along with the shore power connections. Davits are mounted above the swim platform..

The deck is surounded by dual lifelines and with boarding gates at the cockpit and stern. There are two man overboard recovery systems and a throw ring mounted on the stern rails. There is also a wind generator, EPIRB mast at the stern.

The coachroof carries six opening hatches, ten opening ports and four fixed port lights.

At the bow is a dual anchor roller fitting and a dual rode locker with salt and freshwater washdown.

The bright and airy main salon area offers 7' of headroom and seating for nine guests. There's a single berth to starboard with a folding cocktail table available for day use. The main salon table to port converts to a double berth. The entire salon is surrounded by storage lockers, hand holds and port lights. It is also serviced by the A/C unit, fans and 110 AC outlets.

The galley is well laid out for meal prep and entertainment. It features Alder Barbour fridge and freezer with top access and front access for the fridge. The three-burner stove is served by a vent hood above and gimbled for save use while underway. Multiple shelves and cabinets provide plenty of storage space.

The forward facing nav station is to starboard just forward of the companionway stairs. The electrical panels are located here as are the communication and wifi equipment.

Catalina's signature pullman guest cabin with head forward offers guests an ensuite head and shower with plenty of ventilation as well as an A/C register.

Located in aft of the companionway is a centerline queen berth and private access to the aft head. A forward-facing mirrored vanity, accompanied by a flat screen TV fills out the forward bulkhead. The berth is surrounded chested drawers, shelves and lockers for storage.

To starboard of the companionway and opposite the galley he aft head serves the master suite via a private entrance. It's served by a Jabsco electric, freshwater flush marine toilet. There are all the racks, handholds and power outlets you'll ever need.

The engine is accessed from the aft end via and access panel in the master suite. It is more fully accessed via the lifting companionway steps. The racor filters, raw water strainer and charger/invert are all readily accessible.

This version of the 470 includes the single settee berth to starboard bringing the potential accommodations up the 7. The pullman forward is two, two in the converted dinette, one in the single settee to starboard and two in the master suite aft.
