This DH 550 was designed and built-in Trinidad by Dudley Dix of Morelli and Melvin, by Phil Harvey of Gunboat to be his personal boat to sail the world with his family. The present owners purchased Ananda in 2017 and improved her for their cruising needs. Improvements included repainting the entire exterior of the vessel with Awl grip, new Watermaker, new salon upholstery, new solar, high output chargers, high output alternators, lithium batteries, new freshwater plumbing, all-electric kitchen, adding a combination washer/dryer, as well as new running and standing rigging. Additional Information

DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION - The DH 550 utilizes a powerful, easily handled rig, daggerboards and
high bridge deck clearance, to produce a boat designed for fast long-distance passage making.
Modern, cold molded wood/epoxy saturation is a construction process that produces a stronger,
stiffer and MUCH lighter structure than fiberglass (1/2 to 2/3 the weight of similar sized sailing
catamarans). This build method is more durable, more easily maintained, and much easier to repair
if needed.
Micron 66 bottom painted in September 2018, still shows in good condition.
Engel fridge and freezer in salon NOT included.

Paul Harvey started the initial build process in 2006 however, the final construction of the hull and all other components wasn’t started until early 2012 and finally completed in 2013.
